As a result of our new Tuesday Group which starts July 20th, we have some openings in both our "Kid/Tween" Group (MWF) as well as our Teen Group (Tu, Th). Both programs run throughout July into the first week in August. For more details, click here.
6/10/10 - New 7-10 year old Group now forming, to be held on Tuesday's from 4pm-6pm
We are starting a 3rd Kid's LUNCH Groups that will meet on Tuesdays. The group will initially be limited to 10 kids, aged 8-11, and will meet from 3:45pm-6pm. Think of it as "LUNCH Group Lite." Instead of dinner, the kids will be going for a snack right at 4pm. Sessions begin July 20th. For details contact our office, at 818-788-2100 (choose 1).
Using a variety of engaging evidence-based strategies and motivating technologies, participants learn to improve their functioning across several key areas.
This site describes the overall program and provides updated information for existing families who participate in the program. Professionals and school districts interested learning more about training opportunities should check under our "Training Opportunities."
Our child and teen programs are time-limited and divided into School Year and Summer Intensive sessions. These groups meet in Encino, in the San Fernando Valley.
Adult programs are ongoing and are divided into Weekly and Twice Monthly sessions. These groups meet in a restaurant in West Los Angeles (see description for why we do this).
All groups focus on the following areas:
Executive Functioning
Planning, organization, emotional control, self-monitoring, effective judgement, and working memory, formulating coping strategies, and accepting feedback.

Social Competence (Pragmatic Socialization)
Reading social cues, perspective-taking, remaining on topic, knowing when to "jump in" to a discussion, modulating voice level for different situations.

Social Language (Pragmatic Language)
Effective conversations, speaking in a manner that fits the social situation (e.g., giving information without prompting, adjusting language usage to the audience being addressed).

Academic/Vocational Readiness
Remaining seated, effective hand-raising, recognizing what is appropriate conversation and social boundaries for school or the workplace.
